Other Information

Ardtarmon House and farm have been in the family for five generations since 1852. The name “Ardtarmon” comes from the Irish language “ard” meaning “high” and “termon” meaning “sanctuary“ or “Church lands”. There are other termons in Ireland but this is the only one with this prefix.

Today, we concentrate on eco-awareness wherever possible. We grow organic fruit and vegetables for personal/general use, we use eco-friendly products for cleaning, and energy-saving bulbs in light fixtures.

The house and grounds have been used by walking, cycling, birdwatching, and painting groups, as well as a base for tour and farming groups. It is an ideal venue for small corporate conferences or as a quiet retreat for religious and meditaion groups.

Bundoran in Co Donegal (28 km away) is often referred to as ‘Ireland’s Surfing Capital’. The coastal area is blessed with a large range and variety of beach, reef and point breaks.
