The Logs is a detached Norwegian log house situated 3 miles north of Fort William in a quiet rural setting. Things You Should Know
The area is well known for its unsurpassed mountain and coastal scenery where movies such as Rob Roy and Braveheart were filmed. Close to The Logs are Aonach Mor and Ben Nevis (Scotland's highest mountain) while slightly further afield is the famous Glen Coe.
There are also a wide range of Outdoor Activities near to The Logs, these include
climbing, walking, cycling, mountain biking, skiing (during the season only)
gondola trips (3 miles away) with a lovely aerial view of The Logs, local fishing and
golf (approx. 1 mile) kayaking, sailing, boat trips, pony trekking (1 mile) - something for everyone.
Nearby at Fort William there are Supermarkets, shops, restaurants, a cinema, distillery, museum, swimming pool and leisure centres The Factors House licensed restaurant is just 1 mile from The Logs.
As a break from driving, why not take one of the most scenic railway journeys in the world? The West Highland Line from Fort William to Mallaig is the ideal way to enjoy the spectacular scenery along the Road to the Isles which abounds with stories of Bonnie Prince Charlie. During the summer The Jacobite steam train operates from mid-June to mid-September Monday to Friday and some Sundays during the height of the season. Ordinary trains operate daily throughout the year.
The photogenic ruins of Castle Tioram lie 2 hours drive to the south of Fort William, while picturesque Eilean Donan Castle is 2 hours to the north near Skye.
