Description

The Logs is a detached Norwegian log house situated 3 miles north of Fort William in a quiet rural setting. It offers self-catering accommodation of a high standard for up to 10 people.The visual tranquility, feeling of spaciousness, warmth and comfort associated with this type of building are certain to enhance any holiday.

The beautiful accommodation has the following facilities: A Conventional electric split-level oven - Gas hob - Microwave oven - Fridge & Freezer - Dishwasher - Washing machine & Tumble drier - NSA water purification unit - Iron and ironing board - Hairdryers - Gas central heating- Hot water urn, A Wood burning stove in the lounge - Free WiFi - Ipod Boombox - Colour TV with Freesat, VCR and DVD - Colour TV DVD Combo - High chair - Payphone taking incoming calls - A gazebo with patio heater and BBQ and picnic tables

3 mountain bikes - Lockable, fishing rod box, 18 feet long (5.9 metres) - attached to the outside of the house - Ample parking - also has a spacious lounge with gallery sitting room over, dining room with large table seating 10, and breakfast kitchen with all the facilities to make you feel at home - all fuel, gas and electricity, plus bed linen, duvets and towels are all provided at no extra charge.

Downstairs:

1 double with en-suite shower room, toilet and basin

1 single with additional Gallery bed

2 double rooms with wash hand basins (1 of these double rooms can be made up as either a twin or a double)

Upstairs:

1 single room

1 large family room (en-suite)

Things You Should Know

The area is well known for its unsurpassed mountain and coastal scenery where movies such as Rob Roy and Braveheart were filmed. Close to The Logs are Aonach Mor and Ben Nevis (Scotland's highest mountain) while slightly further afield is the famous Glen Coe.

There are also a wide range of Outdoor Activities near to The Logs, these include

climbing, walking, cycling, mountain biking, skiing (during the season only)

gondola trips (3 miles away) with a lovely aerial view of The Logs, local fishing and

golf (approx. 1 mile) kayaking, sailing, boat trips, pony trekking (1 mile) - something for everyone.

Other Information

Nearby at Fort William there are Supermarkets, shops, restaurants, a cinema, distillery, museum, swimming pool and leisure centres The Factors House licensed restaurant is just 1 mile from The Logs.

As a break from driving, why not take one of the most scenic railway journeys in the world? The West Highland Line from Fort William to Mallaig is the ideal way to enjoy the spectacular scenery along the Road to the Isles which abounds with stories of Bonnie Prince Charlie. During the summer The Jacobite steam train operates from mid-June to mid-September Monday to Friday and some Sundays during the height of the season. Ordinary trains operate daily throughout the year.

The photogenic ruins of Castle Tioram lie 2 hours drive to the south of Fort William, while picturesque Eilean Donan Castle is 2 hours to the north near Skye.
