Patterdale Hall Estate is a 300-acre private estate located in the breathtakingly beautiful Ullswater valley. The Estate offers seventeen comfortable and affordable self-catering holiday properties of various types, all with magnificent views and wondrous settings.
With a choice of styles and sizes, our self-catering accommodation is ideally suited to those who enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside and all are within easy walking distance of some of the most famous fells. You can stay in our Pine Lodges or Cedar Chalets with acres of lawns in front of your verandas and wonderful views over Place Fell, or enjoy our Stonebuilt Parkside Cottages, Coach Houses and Bothies, all with sizeable private gardens and spectacular views. Our most unique property, The Dairy, is an octagonal cottage for two with a bedroom in the ceiling space that is accessed via a ladder! All of the Cottages and Lodges have the following amenities: Living room with dining area-Separate, fully equipped kitchen-Bathroom with bath, shower and toilet.
These idyllic surroundings are the perfect place to enjoy water activities, walk the fells, tour the Lakes, or just indulge yourself and relax away from the stresses of modern life. Ideal for individuals, couples, families and large groups alike. Each property is primarily heated by Economy 7 storage heaters. The cost of these is already included in your property charge.Our local farmer delivers daily, so you can have very reasonably priced fresh milk and eggs on your doorstep every day. The Coach House Mews are located in the Estate's listed 19th Century stable block and provide comfortable accommodation for 4 to 6 people.
The Dairy provides a unique visitor experience, being created out of the old 19th century dairy. Sleeping two, and away from the main buildings, this provides a perfect accommodation for those seeking even more peace and tranquility than even this unspoilt part of the Lake District generally affords.
Things You Should Know
Wrapped around the southern tip of Ullwater, England’s most stunning lake, the Estate has 100 acres of ancient woodland to explore along with spectacular crags, a fantastic Waterfall Wood walk, a lovely little tarn, and a private forshore for picnicking, boating or fishing as well as being the starting point of a multitude of the finest Lakeland walks. The area offers some of the most dramatic Lake District scenery. The villages of Glenridding and Patterdale are only a ten minute walk away and in each you will find local shops, pubs and restaurants providing plenty of options to eat and shop.

Dalemain Historic House & Gardens-A Mediaeval, Tudor & early Georgian house steeped in history with lovely gardens to enjoy and a tearoom serving traditional home made food!
