Things You Should Know

Foxfield Glamping was launched in 2013 following the purchase of two state of the art Glamping pods. The two pods are located in the grounds of Elbury House, a family run Bed & Breakfast at the top of the Saxon village of Bradford on Avon.

Mother & Daughter combo Joy & Victoria run the Bed & Breakfast and the Glamping pods.

During your stay at Foxfield your neighbours will be our miniature Shetlands Lily, Raffles and Lola. We do not allow other four legged friends as there are plenty here for you to play with! Sassy is large but VERY friendly, however if you would like me to pop the dogs in their kennel – just let me know!

Other Information

Foxfield Glamping is just 3/4 of mile from the Town Centre, which is surely one of the most picturesque towns in Wiltshire.

Dating back to the tenth century a community settled on the 'Broad Ford' of the Avon.

The first bridge probably being built by the Saxons, although the Normans built the first stone bridge. On the bridge is a small stone building which was originally a chapel, the fish on the weather vane is a Gudgeon – hence the motto 'fish over water'. The building was later used as lock up where local drunks and trouble makers were left to cool off!!

The little church of St. Lawrence is one of the best preserved Saxon churches in England, also well worth seeing is the impressive fourteenth century Tithe Barn, used by the wealthy landowners to collect 'tythes' or taxes from the people of Bradford on Avon.

Although steeped in history you can enjoy a variety of shops and superb restaurants, walk the river and canal, or just sit and watch the narrow boats negotiate the lock.

The many cultural and sporting activities make Bradford on Avon a popular tourist attraction.
