Things You Should Know

The White family Philip, Eavan, Fred and Karen are here to help guests enjoy their time on the North Coast.

The White family have been running Maddybenny Farm and livery yard since the 1950's since then the farm has diversified with the farmhouse Bed & Breakfast in 1984, then the riding school shortly after then in the purpose built self catering holiday cottages.

Maddybenny means “sanctified or holy post”. The farm house dates from the 1600s, when it was built as a plantation house on the lands belonging to the Earl of Antrim. The first Presbyterian Minister, Rev. Gabriel Cornwall, lived here.

Other Information

Portrush is a small seaside resort town in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, on the County Londonderry border. The main part of the old town, including the railway station, restaurants and bars, is built on a mile–long peninsula, Ramore Head, pointing north-northwest.

There are two long sandy beaches in the town, known as the West and East Strand. White Rocks and Curran Strand stretch on from the East Strand and are backed by dunes. The coast continues past Dunluce Castle to the Giant's Causeway (it was once possible to travel to these attractions from Portrush on the Giant's Causeway Tramway). A 13 ft high bronze sculpture, inspired by the sails of local traditional boats, is located at East Strand.
